En un lugar mágico y
a la vez iluminado, vive su metamorfosis una mujer de expresión sensual, ojos
vivaces y cuerpo cultivado por la naturaleza: Nona Santalla. Mujer indeleble, única,
diferente, de tendencia legendaria. Mujer inteligente, culta, ingeniosa y
sincera (así la sinceridad la haya inventado alguien que quiso amargarle la
vida al prójimo). De actividades insólitas, practica del arco, asoma pasión por
la motocicleta, es para una postal observarla en las carreteras de Santa Cruz,
Bolivia, a bordo de su “Honda Stedd” o su “Sidecar Ruso”. Amante del deporte
del arco y la flecha, y perseverante con su gimnasia revestida de aeróbicos,
flexiones, abdominales.
Amante de la naturaleza, cifra su ensueño, paseando solitaria al acecho de lo insólito por los jardines que circuncidan su singular casa de campo construida bajo su propia dirección arquitectónica, y regia en todos sus detalles. Mobiliario Vintage, espejos, pisos, antigüedades, jarrones, mesas, vajillas antiguas, fotos, cuadros de temáticas interesantes y otros arreglos sin vacilación inéditos. Estilo Nonísimo que consiste, en la corriente “Nona”, donde ella crea su propio estilo impregnado de clase.
La topografía de Santa Cruz, hace que para llegar al poblado, Las Cruces, entre Terebinto y Porongo donde habita Nona, haya que ascender desde la travesía por un sendero y muchos jardines, como buscando en la montaña, la gruta secreta en que se oficia el rito del propicio culto a la naturaleza.
Conocí a Nona en 1972, cuando la zona Sur de Calacoto era todavía precaria. Ella no me recuerda en esa época, yo sí, pues mi memoria es privilegiada y puedo acordarme desde que salí del claustro materno. Nona era una adolescente inquieta, hija de militar, por tanto rebelde. De rostro bien parecido que ya la mostraba como una mujer bien atractiva y bonita, sobre todo muy sexy.
Eran tiempos de amistad con Javier Viscarra, María Luisa López Gonzáles, Cecilia Baldivieso, Lupe Schmidt, Denise Peyre, Soraya Salinas. Y llego el día en que encontré a Nona en las redes sociales y le pedí amistad en su página de Facebook. Nuestro apego virtual fue intenso y frecuente, al extremo de conocerla en todos sus quehaceres, fundamentalmente productivos. Nona es una de mis mejores amigas, con quien discuto, platico, me asesoro. Conversamos desde temas triviales como la ropa, hasta la alta costura Vintage. Son muy frecuentes las referencias a la metafísica, el misterio, el ocultismo y la Masonería. Se puede hablar de todo con Nona, y cuanto más extraña es la historia más interesante se tornan nuestras narraciones.
Nona es una mujer de mundo. Yo le digo “Nonísima”, porque es grande en todo. Ha viajado por países como Vietnam, India, Pakistán, entre otros. Domina la naturaleza, las puestas del sol, los solsticios de primavera e invierno. Observa la constelación de la cruz del Sur entre Abeja y Centauro. Ama los animales, habla con ellos. Es común observarla con su pequeño perro, o de pronto con su hermosa tortuga. Gusta de la mejor música, barroca por lo general los conciertos brandemburgueses de J.S. Bach, o el jazz, el bossa nova; a veces la descubro colocando en su página el canto de Billie Holiday.
Nona posee una elegancia particular, cuando viste moda Vintage, y una particular presencia casual en la que luce bikinis, tops, shorts, poleras, camisetas, prendas para hacer ejercicio, practicar el arco. Su vestuario es extraordinario por el gusto. Da complacencia observarla. Su ropa es fascinante, como en la foto que ilustra esta crónica, en la que observamos a Nona con un muy escotado atuendo negro distinguido, a través de mucha piel desarropada, vistiendo la prenda con el cuerpo desnudo por debajo.
Defensora de las causas justas, puede ser una mujer con garras cuando se produce alguna estupidez para la que no hay permisibilidad alguna. Se pronuncia en las redes cuando las causas son adversas y dañan el medio ambiente, la honorabilidad y el respeto. Si Nona fuera periodista, tendríamos una libertad de prensa ideal.
Mi relación con ella es de contante reflexión, asesoramiento. No comulgamos ideas vinculadas a líneas religiosas y de otra índole, pero el respeto nos une y la confianza que ambos nos hemos ganado, es un ansiolítico en estos tiempos en que el mundo está en guerra. No son los muertos los que en dulce calma la paz disfrutan de la tumba fría; muertos son los que tienen muerto el alma y aún viven todavía. Los problemas globales que enfrenta la humanidad y los conflictos específicos por los que atraviesa Bolivia, hacen cierto poder predecir que ni la vigencia de la Covit-19, ha despertado la solidaridad; todo lo contrario el hombre se ha bestializado y disfrazado de una nueva cultura que no es otra que la del desprecio, el autoritarismo, la mentira y la farsa.
Pero Nona sigue adelante, sigue cosechando y ha dejado un ejemplo de dignidad vocacional en la ética, el arte, el talento. Su hijo Carlos lo ha recogido. “Yo siento que hice un buen trabajo en educarlo en un ambiente artístico, apreciar y fomentar sus inquietudes y como resultado siento felicidad de verlo feliz a él”, subraya Nona.
